Building International Partnerships with Grit, Grace and Gratitude
Recently I met with a couple of my mentors who serve on boards of banks in the US, one large, one small, one public, one private. While the common theme from these discussions was the inordinate amount of time that boards spend on regulatory compliance, the lack of “Street View” in private entities also became an interesting point. Having served on a $2.3B asset Credit Union (CU) board and chaired its Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO), “Safety and Soundness” has always been top of the mind. However, after having had two rounds of Investor Relations Officer (IRO) positions for NYSE listed Fortune 500 companies, I also see a strong need for Credit Union board members to serve up the “Street View” for CU management.
